What to look for
Pick a unit with a weatherproof rating (NEMA 4 or IP66) and a stated operating range down to at least -30°C. A cold-rated, flexible cable stays pliable instead of stiffening into a coil that fights you.
40–48 amps is ideal: it recovers a large pack overnight and keeps up with heavy winter preconditioning loads.
Why it matters in winter
